Officials / Referee Credentials
The Rochester District Basketball Officials hold the contract to assign for all Catholic Youth Organization games. The name of this referee section is called Board 60, which is an authorized group under the International Association Approved Basketball Officials (IABBO). To referee a Catholic Youth Organization game, all referees must meet the qualifications that Board 60 has in place. All referees or interested individuals in becoming a referee must email to begin the process of getting certified to referee a Catholic Youth Organization game.
Coaches Credentials
The Diocese of Rochester requires all Coaches, Volunteers, or anyone working with the youth to follow protocols to become credentialed.
In order to be part of CYO Athletics you must follow the requirements:
- Background Check (through your parish)
Background Checks are Mandatory for ALL Volunteers at the Diocese of Rochester. Please contact your Parish or Athletic Director for information regarding the process to receive a Background check. Background checks will be checked every three years in accordance with the Charter for Protection of Children and Young people regulated by the United State Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in 2002 to present. - CaSE Certification (Renew every three years)
Complete the CaSE training online at dor.safeenvironment.org. - CPR/First Aid & AED Certified (Renew every three years)
Certification administered though any organization suited to provide it. - Acceptance of the Code of Conduct

Include evidence of completion for each item above.
The Parish Athletic Director will receive confirmation once you have been cleared to Coach for CYO.
